A voice for tenants, by tenants
New Brunswick has the fewest protections for tenants compared to anywhere else in Canada. There are no rent controls, no eviction prevention programs, no landlord licensing requirements, and no right to maintain occupancy at the end of a lease agreement.
It is time that we used our collective power as tenants to demand stronger protections for renters, more investments in public and not-for-profit housing, imposition of rent controls, and a new Residential Tenancies Act based on the human right to housing that puts public interest before private profit.
